Paint horse foals are born with the breed's distinctive patches, showcasing their unique coat patterns from day one. Essentially, they are dappled Quarter Horses, but historically, only solid-colored horses were allowed in the studbook. However, due to the popularity of Paint horses, they were officially recognized as a breed in their own right just two decades later.
