GG Valentine was a true legend in the hunter show ring, capturing the hearts of many until her retirement in 2007 at the prestigious Devon Horse Show. Imported from Europe at six years old by Redfield Farm in 2001, her breeding remains a mystery, though she hailed from the Mecklenburg line, a breed with deep historical roots. Even in literary history, Mecklenburg horses are noted, such as in Alexander Dumas's *The Three Musketeers*, where d'Artagnan rides one. GG Valentine was named after her owner Barbara Kearney’s grandmother, Gramma Gail, born on Valentine’s Day.
After her illustrious show career, GG Valentine transitioned to broodmare, producing future champions like her colt Heartbreaker, born January 14, 2010, in Ocala, Florida. The veterinarian attending Heartbreaker’s birth remarked that he was one of the "fastest" foals he'd ever seen rise to his feet, suggesting that like his mother, Heartbreaker is destined for greatness in the show ring.
